Thankful November: KitchenAid Mixer Giveaway

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season can be stressful, but I am thankful for time I get to spend with my family. ย I love to cook and entertain. We always have several large dinners and everyone makes their favorite dish. We talk and eat together. A few years ago during a Black Friday sale I purchased my favorite small kitchen appliance, a KitchenAid stand mixer. I love my mixer for many reasons, but primarily because I can spend less time in the kitchen and more time with my loved ones.

I want to thank all of my readers who have shared stories, commented on my antics, cooked one or two of my recipes, or stopped by just to take a look around. I write as a way to relax, but I also write for y’all to read it. What good is a blog if you don’t have readers?
So are y’all ready for a giveaway?

I have never owned a table top mixer, think I would enjoy one.

I would make Christmas cookies with my daughter, custard pies like my Mom used to make and rice pudding, my dad’s favorite dessert.

As pathetic as it sounds, and despite the love that my husband and I share, we have never in our 7+ years of marriage owned a mixer… Not even a hand-held one ๐Ÿ˜›
Within 48 hours of saying “I do” we were back at EKU taking mid-term exams, and life has been a whirlwind since! 7 years later, we have the most amazing 2 year old little boy, and a princess on the way! We love to cook at home and make big meals, but that often turns into Archer playing in the living room or his nursery for an hour or so while Brad and I cook, and check in on him. A mixer would make life so much easier! And cooking even more enjoyable!!
The first things I would make with a new mixer are:
    1. Homemade spice cake (mine and my dad’s favorite!)
    2. a HUGE batch of made from scratch biscuits
    3. cupcakes for my students (all 159 that I see in a day’s time! They don’t believe me when I tell them I’m quite the cook ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

The first things I would make with the mixer would be: bread, mashed potatoes and toll house cookies with walnuts! Wow! Thanks for the chance!

    • Reply Jess 08/11/2014 at 5:21 pm

Mashed potatoes are definitely the most popular so far. It makes them so creamy and easy. Good luck!

First – chocolate chip, oatmeal, walnut cookie bars; second – I’d like to try your pecan pudding cake – looks delicious; third – my favorite almond poppy seed bread.

I can’t image what grocery shopping and meal prep is like in your house. Good luck and you definitely deserve a stand mixer.

I love to bake lots of things, but I’d love to bake my great granny’s jam cake! I can remember as a little girl that she used her hands to mix it batch by batch. I just recently found her hand written recipe while going through boxes of stuff from the attic! How awesome would it be to be able to share that with my kids this holiday season!
    Hugs,
    Catherine
