Valentine’s Day is coming up and I wanted a special snack/dessert to feed my whole family. My son loves chocolate covered strawberries, and I decided I wanted an alternative option to dipping strawberries for him. This chocolatey dip is loaded with almond butter, brownie mix, mini chocolate chips, and almond slivers. I served this Almond Butter Brownie Dip with graham crackers, fresh fruit, and butter cookies, but truthfully I could almost eat it with a spoon.
- 1 cup almond butter
- 1 cup brownie mix (substitution below)
- 2 cups whipped cream
- ¼ cup slivered almonds
- ¼ cup chocolate chips
- Brownie mix substitution:
- ¼ cup self rising flour
- ¼ cup cocoa
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- Add almond butter and a few tablespoons of whipped cream to a mixing bowl. Mix until almond butter is thinner and manageable. Add 1 cup of your favorite brownie mix or brownie mix substitution. Mix well. Mix in remaining whipped cream and chocolate chips. Empty into a serving bowl and garnish with slivered almonds. Serve with graham crackers, fresh fruit, cookies, or pretzels
This seemed to fix my son’s craving for chocolate covered strawberries without me feeling terribly guilty. I love the added crunch of almonds .
