I love creating snacks that I don’t feel guilty about feeding my son. I think that it’s important to established balanced eating habits at a young age. We do pretty good during meal times, but it can be hard to choose wholesome snacks. Next weekend Gabe and I (along with lots of other children and families) will sit down to watch the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. We’ll be rooting for some of our favorite shows, games, and characters. Since Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters is the official drink sponsor this year, I thought I would share a recipe for a better-for-you drink/snack option. This Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters Smoothie has minimal ingredients but it is full of flavor, nutrients, and even some protein!

Capri Sun Roarin' Waters Smoothie

Gabe and I decided to head over to the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards website to check out who was nominated and vote; Truthfully, I may have “helped” him vote. He had strong opinions about Mario Kart 8 winning Most Addicting Game, and his Favorite Movie selection was Transformers: Age of Extinction. I “reminded” him that our Favorite Family TV Show is definitely Big Bang Theory. He and I had fun chatting about the shows, characters, and movies before we headed into the kitchen to make our smoothie.

With this recipe and a few delicious snacks like fresh strawberries, cheese sticks, and pretzels, we’re ready to watch the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Saturday, March 28th. The Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters has no artificial colors and flavors and only 30 calories per pouch. When it’s combined with greek yogurt and fresh fruit, you can create a guilt-free drink for your family.

Look for the Kids’ Choice Awards Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters displays in select Walmart locations. I try to keep a few boxes on hand for Gabe to drink or in case I need to take snacks for his teammates after a game.
