Maintaing my weight as an adult has been a struggle; I played multiple sports throughout childhood and college that allowed me to eat whatever I wanted. Complications from childbirth and breastfeeding contributed to weight gain following the birth of my son. When I weaned him at 2 years old, I decided I had to lose the weight. I created a diet and exercise routine that included LEAN CUISINE® meals that helped me lose nearly 70 pounds.

In the past year, I have gained some of the weight back; I injured my back and that kept me sedentary for a few months. The scales slowly crept forward and there was little I could do to stop it. My wedding is just a few short months away and I’m working to shed those added pounds. I’ve resorted to my tried and true diet and exercise plan to help me lose the weight that includes LEAN CUISINE®.

Curious about how I approach weight loss? I generally try to consume between 1200-1300 calories per day, and I participated in 1 hour of cardio exercise 5 days per week. I alternated the type of exercise and I included things such as aerobic dance class, using the elliptical, and jogging.  In just a few months, I had lost nearly half the weight I gained. I would go on to complete three half marathons in the  year following my weight loss including the Nike Women Half Marathon.

I have to contribute part of my weight loss success to the use of LEAN CUISINE® meals. Eating them allowed me meal options that keep me from “diet burn-out”. I wasn’t limited to grilled fish or chicken and steamed veggies. When my household was splurging on pizza, I didn’t have to skip completely because LEAN CUISINE® offered pizza. I tried the Marketplace Vermont White Cheddar Mac & Cheese “made with” organic pasta, and Gabe took it from me after two bites. Mac & cheese is his favorite. He wasn’t disappointed and neither was I. Jeremy and I both tried the Marketplace Sweet & Spicy Korean Style Beef, and it was delicious. It is my favorite of the new meals. It has real chunks of beef, steamed vegetables, and rice. The Marketplace Comfort Chicken in Sweet BBQ Sauce was also good. The chicken was tender and juicy.
