Fragrances have the to ability to spark a memory or evoke an emotion. They can be a powerful tool in the hands of a skilled real estate agent. There are fragrances that remind me of my childhood, and baking with my great grandmother. The aroma of fresh banana bread makes me happy because it reminds me of time well spent with her. Today, I’m sharing my favorite recipe for Banana Bread, and a way to keep your home filled with your favorite fragrances with the help of American Home™ by Yankee Candle®.

The recipe I’m sharing today is a modified version of the recipe my great grandmother used that I modified to my own preference. You can trade out the variety of nuts used; she preferred walnuts, but I like pecans. I’ve heard from others that they used chopped cashews for a fun twist.

I baked this banana bread before I left for a conference, and early reports from home indicate that it is already gone. Even our beloved Tucker cat enjoyed a piece while no one was looking. Fortunately, the aroma from the candle will last considerably longer than the bread!

Are there any fragrances that evoke emotions or memories for you? Make sure you check the newest lineup from Yankee Candle®, American Home™ by Yankee Candle® available exclusively at Walmart.

My grandmother always used walnuts, as did my mother, but I think pecans could be perfect for a moist banana bread too. Thanks for sharing this family recipe- I always love reading about how sights, sounds, and scents can transport someone back to wonderful memories! #client
