Are the holidays as stressful for you as they are for me? We’re always running around from place to place, or we have events to attend; I eat too much, bake too much, and I won’t exercise like I should. I’m chasing the cat out of our Christmas tree, or trying to shop for thoughtful Christmas gifts. I often scrimp on self-care. One thing I try not to put off is my regular massage. I generally try to schedule massages as part of my overall health and wellness routine. A good massage allows me to relax and unwind; I find a good massage to be physically and mentally refreshing. Because the holidays are so hectic and stressful, I’m choosing a little ME time with Massage Envy.
Massage Envy believes in whole body care; you need to care for every aspect of your wellbeing. A massage is physically rewarding, but it also gives me quiet time to reflect on what’s going on in my life. At Massage Envy, I’m putting my care in the “hands” of a trained professional. I’m a writer, and to write I’m often glued to my desk for what can seem like hours at a time; a therapeutic massage can help relieve some of the postural stress caused by prolonged sitting.
Massage Envy offers a variety of therapeutic massages including:
- Deep Tissue
- Trigger Point Therapy
- Sports Massage
- Cranial Sacral Therapy
Every massage type strategically targets certain muscles, tendons, and ligaments to address symptoms or ailments.
Small scale studies have reported massages can be beneficial to a variety of ailments when combined with proper medical care. They can help relieve stress, pain, and tension.
Some people consider a massage as just a luxury, but for me it’s an important part of my personal maintenance schedule. I am better able to focus, I’m more relaxed, and I just feel better after I’ve had a massage.
