If you visit my blog often, it’s quickly apparent that our pets are a huge part of our lives. We lost two of our beloved dogs earlier this year, and it was very difficult on our family. Every pet we own has their own personality, and brings joy to our home. Presently, we have two dogs and three cats, who make life much more interesting. Our latest addition is Matilda Mouse, aka Matty. Our Rottweiler puppy, Kitty seemed lonely, and Gabe really wanted a small dog. She loves everyone, but she’s been Gabe’s since she came to our home. We no longer have to fuss at Gabe to go to bed, (well not nearly as much) or to sleep in his own bed, because Matty is his real life teddy bear. She likes to sneak under the covers with you and snuggle, and she’s a fantastic little dog. Since Gabe is out of school for the summer, I’ve been trying to find activities to keep him busy. He loves art and painting, so I decided to let Matty and he make some art. Today I’m sharing a free Best Friends Printable and Pet Art Tutorial that makes a fun summer activity and keepsake.
I feel like Matty needs a proper introduction since she hasn’t been on the blog before. We were told she was part Boston Terrier, Miniature Schnauzer, Shih Tzu, and probably a little sneaky neighbor’s dog, but mostly she’s a whole lot of love. We adopted her from the aunt of Gabe’s classmate because they could no longer keep her. She is a typical small dog, and loves to sit on or near you. Matty has one odd trait for a small dog, she rarely barks. When Matty does bark she sounds like a tiny hound dog, which makes her more adorable, if that’s possible. She weighs less than most of our cats, and she’s the smallest dog I’ve ever owned.

Today’s snack was Mott’s® Apple Juice and Mott’s Applesauce Pouches. I appreciate that Mott’s is a nutritious snack and helps teach him to make healthier snack choices in the future. Mott’s has a wide variety of products that can be enjoyed at home or taken on the road. It’s a win-win for us because we regularly purchase Mott’s products and we plan on seeing The Secret Life of Pets movie when it comes to our local theater.
Do you secretly wonder what your pets do while you’re away? I can’t image the mischief that our pets get into. Our cats knocked an entire basket of fresh eggs of the kitchen counter a few nights ago, and half scared me to death.
Does your child have a pet best friend? What are you doing to keep them busy this summer? I hope you can use the tutorial to create your own pet art, and check out the Mott’s redemption offers for The Secret Life of Pets movie.
