Regular and routine vehicle maintenance is important to the “health” of your vehicle, and your safety. Once your vehicle reaches a certain milage (or every 12 months), it will need a professional service, which you can find out more about by following the link. But there are things you should be doing and checking yourself in between these services. It can be tough to remember what needs to be done or scheduled, and when. Today I’ve creating a printable vehicle maintenance checklist. I’m discussing what should be checked monthly and the types of routine maintenance that needs to be schedule.

I want to point out the obvious, always follow the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines for maintenance and safety. This includes but is not limited to recommendations for oil weight and viscosity, and air pressure in tires.

I always use the same brand oil and oil filter for consistency, which is always Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage. It helps to reduce leaks and oil consumption in higher mileage engines like mine. My car has over 93,000 miles, but it still runs like a champ. Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage motor oil designed for new or late model vehicles with over 75,000 miles. I feel that it helps to keep my car’s engine running clean. The Pennzoil Platinum lines is their line of full synthetic motor oil made from natural gas using PurePlus™ Technology. It has been tested and reported that it can keep piston’s 40% cleaner.

I’m always having to look at the guidelines printed on the inside of my car door or under my hood to remind myself how much tire air pressure should be or to see what type of oil to get. I have two suggestions to make your life easier; either write them down on the free printable I’ve included or to order it online.

There are two added bonuses to ordering your motor oil online, you don’t have to carry it home and you don’t have to look up what type of motor oil to order. I can log into my Walmart account and just check my order history. The same applies to oil filters, windshield wiper blades, air filters, etc. It also saves me an extra run to the store and a few moments standing in the checkout line.

Car maintenance is simple, but it’s also easy to forget. Extended periods of conducting no maintenance can lead to expensive repairs and jobs that might not be so easy, requiring the need of services like can offer, as an example. I try to set reminders and mark calendars so that most of my tasks don’t go over due. It’s dangerous and harmful to your vehicle to run low on oil or other fluids, and tire pressure can fluctuate with air temps. My grandfather still routinely asks me when I’ve checked the fluid levels in my car. The good thing is I always look for advice on maintaining my car through online websites from companies like Czok, so I know that I am prepared for anything that looks wrong with my car.

I also included a few things that are optional, but I feel they’re very important. If you’ve ever been involved in an accident or stranded on the side of the road, you’ll likely understand why.

For a limited time Pennzoil products are on rollback at Walmart. You can plan ahead for your next oil change by ordering online and you can have it shipped to your home or select in-store pickup..
