I recently received a message from my friend Kelly of Eat Picks asking if I would be interested in reviewing her newly curated monthly subscription box called Roost Crate;I quickly responded yes. Subscription boxes can be so much fun. What’s not to like about a monthly box of surprise goodies? The Roost Crate is like a farmer’s market in a box. You can read more about the items in the August Roost Crate, watch an unboxing video below, and find out how to subscribe to Roost Crate.
Here is a bit of specific info about Roost Crate. It will include 4-6 curated artisanal products like you might find at your local farmer’s market. The boxes are $39.95, but you can receive discounts for 3 and 6 month prepaid subscriptions. The items in the box will have a total value of $40 to $70.
You can check out my unboxing video below. Be gentle, it was my first unboxing video.
The August Roost Crate box contained the following items:
- Barkeater Chocolates Sea Salt Downhill Darksider Bar
- O My! Mini O!s Oatmeal Milk & Honey Soap
- T&J Soap Lemon Lime Lip Balm
- Berry & Birch Brown Sugar Fig Candle
- V Smiley Rhubarb Vanilla Preserves sweetened with honey
- Branded Roost Crate tote bag
I was pleasantly surprised by the Rhubarb Vanilla Preserves. I’m so use to the typical combination of strawberry and rhubarb that I would have probably looked over the Rhubarb Vanilla. It was delicious slathered on some biscuits hot out of the oven.
The chocolate bar was definitely the household favorite. It was rich and delicious. I savored every bite, and I selfishly wanted to hide the rest of the bar.
The Brown Sugar Fig candle burns evenly and leaves a delightful aroma wafting through the house. I would definitely order another a candle or two.
Both the lip balm and the soap have a very luxurious feel. The lip balm is flavored/scented just enough to make it feel/smell fresh. It comes in a small tin which makes it handy for carrying in a purse or bag. The soap doesn’t leave a residue and didn’t dry out my hands.
In short, we didn’t received a single product that we didn’t like. I love that you will have the option to order more products featured in the boxes from the online store. Roost Crate would make a fun gift for just about anyone.
I’ve received several subscription boxes. I’ve loved some, and some I quickly unsubscribed. Have you found any subscription boxes that you can’t live without? What was your favorite item in my Roose Crate box?
