Every mother with a daughter knows how important it is to keep your little princess looking her best. One of our favorite clothing accessories is her bonnets. She has several in various colors, and if you’ve been buying them from boutiques, you know that they are an investment. We want to make sure her bonnets maintain their shape so they look their best when she’s wearing them, and to make sure we get the best resale value when we trade up to the next size. Today I’m sharing a tutorial for how to make a bonnet stand.

This time of year is especially busy for our family. We just wrapped up weekly Cub Scouts, but now my son is playing spring soccer and baseball. The two seasons overlap for a few weeks and it isn’t uncommon that he has two sports in one evening. I’ve managed pretty well the last two years, but this year I’m in my third trimester of pregnancy. My husband travels often for work, so I have to manage. I’ve found one product that makes meals on our busiest days a little easier. My son really enjoys the Kidfresh Frozen Meals from Kroger. They’re convenience and relief for busy moms, and they contain hidden veggies so they’re the best in kids nutrition. I created several reusable activity placemats; they make clean up easy and dinner time more fun. You can find the supply list and reusable activity placemat tutorial below.
I’m the queen of procrastination right now; I’ll blame pregnancy hormones. I meant to start this project several weeks ago, but I was preoccupied with getting ready for a new baby. This Apple Shadow Box is super simple to make if you have all of the supplies, and it shouldn’t take long to put together. I think it makes a cute Teacher Appreciation Gift. I created the template in Cricut Design Space already. You will just need to gather the required supplies, fill in the teacher and student names in the template, and assemble the Apple Shadow Box.
Last night my husband and I broke our household rule about taking our son to the movies on a school night; we wanted to see the new live action Beauty and the Beast film just released by Disney. We arrived at the movie theater an hour early to make sure we could purchase tickets and waited (im)patiently for 45 minutes for the movie to start. Half the movie I could hear my husband either singing or humming along to the famous score from a seat away, and it was hard not to sing along too. You can read more of our thoughts about the film and check out the Beauty and the Beast free printable activity sheets provided by Disney below.

Emma Watson stars as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast in Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, a live-action adaptation of the studio’s animated classic directed by Bill Condon.

When I first started working on this post, I made a huge typo. I shortened the file name and the permalink without even noticing. I titled the post, “Raised in a Bar,” which is quite a bit different from being “raised in a barn.” I’m just glad I caught it before I hit publish, and I’ll blame the error on pregnancy brain. It can easily be resized in Design Space to fit various shirt sizes from newborn to adult; someone had even requested I cut a vinyl stencil to create wall art using this Raised in a Barn Design Space File. I think it would be equally cute on a tote for a farmer, 4-H leader/parent or anyone that appreciates farm life.

My 6 year old is obsessed with Ghostbusters, we’ve watched both the original and the newly version dozens of time. He still gasps ever single time that creepy basement door opens on it his own. He started asking for a Ghostbusters birthday party this year, and asked to be Abby for Halloween (he said it was because she was the only one that really believed in ghosts lol). He’s in a large class, plays several sports, active in Cub Scouts, and we have a large family, so I’m expecting a big party. I would rather that no one felt left out and everyone had a good time. I’ve spent the last few years stressing over birthday party themes and cooking, that I didn’t get to enjoy his parties. This Ghostly Good Party is simple and it can be done inexpensively. I hope you enjoy this Fast & Fun Ghostly Good Party Tutorial.
Farmhouse style decor is one of the hottest trends in home decorating at the moment. We live in a farmhouse on a farm, so it kinda makes sense for us. I also have a growing collection of family heirlooms and antiques, that fit in with that style. I’ve been adding farmhouse style signs to our house one at a time. This is my first farmhouse style sign tutorial, and I’ll be adding the others that I’ve designed and made in the next few weeks. I saw something similar in a shop, but couldn’t justify the price tag so set about looking on sites like www.thehowtocrew.com to try and find out how to make my own. This DIY Farmhouse Sign just requires a few supplies and less than an hour to finish. I’ve also partnered with several other Cricut bloggers to feature some of our projects, and to give away a box of Cricut supplies. The complete details are at the bottom of this post.
