My wedding is just over four months away, and I really want to get in the best physical shape possible. My exercise and meal plan includes regular cardio workouts, weight lifting, and a low calorie diet with adequate protein to help build lean muscle mass. I know I generally don’t eat enough protein, so I researched alternative protein replacement options. I found Purely Inspired® protein powder and Mission1™ bars at my local Walmart. I used the Purely Inspired® protein powder to create a delicious Peach Pie Protein Shake, and I’m sharing the recipe below.

What do you look forward to most about the holidays? When I was a young girl, I loved seeing my cousins from out of town. It was the only time during the year that I knew they were coming over and it made me so happy to see them. I remember noticing the look of excitement on my great grandmother’s face because she would have nearly all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in one house; this is the real magic of the holiday season and this is #HowWeFamily.
Our household loves family game night; we try to alternate between board games and games on our Wii U. Gabe and I have an original version of Just Dance that we use to play frequently, and we were excited to get a copy of Just Dance: Disney Party 2. He can sing almost every song (or his rendition of it) on the Disney Descendants soundtrack, and several of the songs from the movie are on the new game, including Rotten to the Core. Read more

It’s hard to age gracefully, every time I look in the mirror I notice a new gray hair or a line in my face; I recently celebrated my 35th birthday, and I remind myself that growing older is a privilege. I’m grateful that I get to grow older, but I want to grow old as gracefully as possible. A few weeks ago I was challenged to take the RoC® RETINOL RESOLUTION; I’ve used RoC® RETINOL products for several years, and I was looking forward to trying the RoC® RETINOL CORREXION® Deep Wrinkle Night Cream.

Are the holidays as stressful for you as they are for me? We’re always running around from place to place, or we have events to attend; I eat too much, bake too much, and I won’t exercise like I should. I’m chasing the cat out of our Christmas tree, or trying to shop for thoughtful Christmas gifts. I often scrimp on self-care. One thing I try not to put off is my regular massage. I generally try to schedule massages as part of my overall health and wellness routine. A good massage allows me to relax and unwind; I find a good massage to be physically and mentally refreshing. Not only that, but a well-needed massage Improves posture and can benefit you and your body in a huge number of ways. Because the holidays are so hectic and stressful, I’m choosing a little ME time with Massage Envy.

It’s never been easy for me to quickly fall asleep, and the winter months can be markedly worse; I wouldn’t call myself clumsy but I’ve had myriad injuries that the cold weather exacerbates. My biggest problem is the two screws in my left hand; I broke two bones cheerleading in college that required permanent screws. When my hand is exposed to cold air and wind, it hurts. It’s hard to avoid the winter weather in Kentucky, especially when you have errands to run or chicken eggs to gather. When my hand starts to ache, it can hurt for hours. Bedtime for me becomes especially dreadful when my hand is hurting and I know I’ll have an early morning. We had to get up early on Saturday to attend the Blessing of the Hounds event a little over an hour away from home. Our schedule for the day was cram packed. We had to leave from there almost immediately to head to my nephew’s birthday party which was 1.5 hours away, and then turn right around to go back to the Kentucky Wild dinner. Friday night my hand started hurting from the sudden weather change (we were transitioning from high 60s to lows in the 20s-30s), and I rolled over to notice it was nearly 12:30am. I knew my alarm clock would go off in less than 6 hours and I would spend my day half miserable from a hurting hand and lack of sleep. I know our schedules during the holidays will only get worse, and so will the weather, so I’ve promised myself that I will attempt to remedy both issues by taking Advil PM when my hand is hurting and I need to get more sleep.

I got my first gray hair in my early twenties; I’m approaching my mid-thirties and it’s now a streak. I keep my hair colored blonde to try to hide it. I don’t recall when I noticed the first line on my face, but I have significant lines now when I smile. I remind myself that gray hair and a few lines here and there are a sign that I’m growing older which is a privilege denied to many, but that doesn’t completely erase the sting. I was introduced to RoC® skincare when I turned 30. I wanted a product that would help erase the fine lines and wrinkles I’ve acquired. People will occasionally complement my skin, and I attribute it to my regular use of RoC® products. I just celebrated another birthday, and I decided I needed something a little stronger before I took drastic measures. Over the next 30 days, I’m making a RoC® RETINOL Resolution with the RoC® RETINOL CORREXION® Deep Wrinkle Night Cream. Are you interested in joining me?
