Inside Out Cupcakes: Core Memories And Emotional Eating

These Inside Out cupcakes are fun for the whole family. They have "core memory" centers and they're topped with Sixlets.
  • 1 white cake mix
  • Red, blue, yellow, and green food coloring
  • 2 cups white frosting
  • Red, yellow, green, purple, and blue Sixlet candies
  1. Prepare cake mix according to whole egg instructions.
  2. Put ¼ cup batter each into 5 small bowls.
  3. Put several drops of red food coloring in one bowl and mix well.
  4. Repeat for remaining colors.
  5. To create purple, mix equal amounts of red and blue food coloring.
  6. Bake individual colors in cake pop maker or pan according to directions on pan/maker (these times can vary depending on which you use).
  7. Refrigerate remaining cake batter while cake balls cook and oven is preheating to 350F.
  8. Let cake balls cool slightly.
  9. Line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  10. Place a spoonful of batter into each liner.
  11. Place a cake ball in each cupcake and top with another spoonful of batter.
  12. Make sure that each cake ball is covered with batter.
  13. Bake 8-12 minutes.
  14. Cool completely before frosting.
