After our sons were born (2 months apart), my sister and I stopped buying Christmas gifts for each other. Unless one of us finds something that the other desperately needs, we generally spend it on the boys. The real joy of Christmas presents is seeing the surprised look on their faces. We still like to do thoughtful things for each other. One day, Jeremy was telling me about his grandmother making Potato candy (insert gag here). I messaged my sister to ask her if she had ever eaten it. She told me yes, and said that it wasn’t that bad; you’ll never convince me that a potato will ever make anything tastier than a french fry. Anna dropped a hint that she would love to have some Divinity candy. She said she hadn’t eaten any in a long time, and she especially liked it with pecans. I like the flavor of brown sugar over refined white sugar and I think it pairs better with pecans, so I decided to make Brown Sugar Divinity. I’m taking it over to our Christmas party on Wednesday.
