Last night my husband and I broke our household rule about taking our son to the movies on a school night; we wanted to see the new live action Beauty and the Beast film just released by Disney. We arrived at the movie theater an hour early to make sure we could purchase tickets and waited (im)patiently for 45 minutes for the movie to start. Half the movie I could hear my husband either singing or humming along to the famous score from a seat away, and it was hard not to sing along too. You can read more of our thoughts about the film and check out the Beauty and the Beast free printable activity sheets provided by Disney below.

DIY Zootopia Inspired The Big Donut Cake

zootopia inspired the big donut cake

“This is a sponsored post, however all opinions are entirely my own.”

It only took my son one glance to tell me where this cake came from. The Big Donut only appears in the film for a few seconds, but it plays an integral part in the plot of the latest Disney animated film, Zootopia. I don’t want to spoil the movie for you if you haven’t seen it, but The Big Donut eventually saves Judy’s life and helps her solve the case. If you haven’t seen the film yet, I suggest you take your school-aged child and go. My Zootopia inspired The Big Donut cake requires minimal baking and artistic design talents. It would be fun birthday cake for a Zootopia themed birthday party and it’s quick enough to make on whim to host a viewing party with your kiddos closet pals when it’s released on DVD. Do you love to go to the movies? I’m currently hosting a giveaway for $100 Fandango gift card, and you can find details about entering for your chance to win at the bottom of this post.

For the last six months, Gabe had begged for a Star Wars themed birthday party. I wasn’t sure if he wanted a retro party or one that included the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters. He eventually requested both. I started researching cakes and I created an entire Pinterest board dedicated to party ideas. I had a few beautiful cake designs picked out, and I decided I didn’t want to make his cake this year. I had made his birthday cake the year before, and it was so stressful. This year I wanted to relax and enjoy his party. It’s hard to order a cake for Gabe’s birthday party. It snowed the day he was born, and we generally have rough weather in Kentucky in the weeks surrounding his birthday. I nearly had to reschedule his party this year. We received nearly 2 feet of snow just a few days before his birthday. We just aren’t equipped to handle much snow this far south. Jeremy’s dad had to drive the tractor up and down the driveway to try to attempt to clear it enough so that people could pull in. The unpredictable weather makes it really hard to plan a party. While I was working on my Pinterest board, I found an idea that I really liked; someone had created a Darth Vader Cupcake Stand. I decided to attempt to create my own Star Wars themed cupcake stands for Gabe’s party. buy celexa online https://cpff.ca/wp-content/languages/new/celexa.html no prescription

What is “The BFG” short for?

January 22, 2016

Someone tried to convince me that the upcoming Disney film, The BFG stood for The Big Fat Giant, and I almost believed them. Despite being born in the 1980’s, I have never read Roald (not misspelled) Dahl’s book, The BFG. We saw the preview for the movie while watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and my son was mesmerized. It’s definitely on our watch list for this year. You can read more about what “The BFG” stands for below and watch the trailer above. You can also check out The BFG movie Facebook page here. Do you want to read the book before you see the movie? You can find it for purchase here.

Family Game Night With Just Dance: Disney Party 2

December 8, 2015

Our household loves family game night; we try to alternate between board games and games on our Wii U. We have so many games that we love to play on our Wii U, but sometimes we don’t have the space on our Wii U to save our progress. Thankfully, there are tools similar to this wii u usb helper that can help us save our game until the next game night. We often like to play two players games and we would use Wii Roms, but these tend to be better for single player experiences, and we want to play together. Gabe and I have an original version of Just Dance that we use to play frequently, and we were excited to get a copy of Just Dance: Disney Party 2. He can sing almost every song (or his rendition of it) on the Disney Descendants soundtrack, and several of the songs from the movie are on the new game, including Rotten to the Core.
