For the last six months, Gabe had begged for a Star Wars themed birthday party. I wasn’t sure if he wanted a retro party or one that included the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters. He eventually requested both. I started researching cakes and I created an entire Pinterest board dedicated to party ideas. I had a few beautiful cake designs picked out, and I decided I didn’t want to make his cake this year. I had made his birthday cake the year before, and it was so stressful. This year I wanted to relax and enjoy his party. It’s hard to order a cake for Gabe’s birthday party. It snowed the day he was born, and we generally have rough weather in Kentucky in the weeks surrounding his birthday. I nearly had to reschedule his party this year. We received nearly 2 feet of snow just a few days before his birthday. We just aren’t equipped to handle much snow this far south. Jeremy’s dad had to drive the tractor up and down the driveway to try to attempt to clear it enough so that people could pull in. The unpredictable weather makes it really hard to plan a party. While I was working on my Pinterest board, I found an idea that I really liked; someone had created a Darth Vader Cupcake Stand. I decided to attempt to create my own Star Wars themed cupcake stands for Gabe’s party. buy celexa online https://cpff.ca/wp-content/languages/new/celexa.html no prescription

What is “The BFG” short for?

January 22, 2016

Someone tried to convince me that the upcoming Disney film, The BFG stood for The Big Fat Giant, and I almost believed them. Despite being born in the 1980’s, I have never read Roald (not misspelled) Dahl’s book, The BFG. We saw the preview for the movie while watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and my son was mesmerized. It’s definitely on our watch list for this year. You can read more about what “The BFG” stands for below and watch the trailer above. You can also check out The BFG movie Facebook page here. Do you want to read the book before you see the movie? You can find it for purchase here.

“This post was sponsored by Lionsgate as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central.”

Do you have an adventurous child? My son is a little too adventurous sometimes, just like the lead character from Lionsgate newest film, Norm of the North. I try to make his life here on the farm as adventurous as possible, including what he eats. Gabe has mentioned more than a few times that he would like to see Norm of the North when it opens in theaters later this week. He and I decided to make a Norm of the North inspired easy North Pole Treat. This treat is my sneaky way of getting him to eat yogurt. You could swap out a few ingredients to suit your child’s palate.

December 10, 2015

I love the resurgence of so many television shows and movies from my childhood; my late brother Brandon loved the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He nearly gave me a concussion when we were little practicing his TMNT ninja moves. Gabe and I are looking forward to the release of the new latest installment next year, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. A few new faces will join the cast, you can read more in the press release below.

ABC Family’s 25 Days Of Christmas

December 1, 2015

What’s your favorite Christmas or Holiday movie? At the moment, my son loves Home Alone. He has watched it two days in a row and laughed hysterically both times, but he’s five and his move preferences change frequently. He also enjoys Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Mickey’s Christmas Carol. I know that Jeremy’s favorite holiday movies is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, he would watch it once a day for the rest of the holiday season. I’m always excited to see the movie schedule for ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas movies. I know that we’ll have holiday entertainment nearly every night until Christmas. The movies begin today, and run through Christmas Day.
