Holiday Wall Art: Wayfair Great Craft Swap

This is a sponsored post, however all opinions are entirely my own.

I was so excited to learn that I would be participating in Wayfair’s Great Craft Swap. I love doing crafty things (or at least attempting them), and the Wayfair Homemakers are always fun to work with. If you don’t know what the Wayfair Great Craft Swap is, I’ll explain it for you; we were shipped a Wayfair item and asked to create a craft from it. We would then ship that craft to another Wayfair Homemaker as a gift. My craft is actually going to a blogger friend, but I can’t ruin her surprise. My Wayfair item was a damask table cloth that I used to help create some fun Wall Art. It’s perfect for a mantle or to hang on the wall, and it’s simple enough that an crafter can do it in a relatively short period of time.

Derby Cake: 15 Course Meal

There is an infamous pie in Kentucky whose name and trademark are furiously protected; I shall refer to this pie as “the pie which shall not be named” (That’s a silly movie reference). It became famous because it’s delicious and it has an affiliation with our beloved derby. It’s filled with brown sugar, chocolate chips, pecans (or walnuts), and a hint of Kentucky bourbon. Today, I turned that pie into a cake; It’s as delicious as its notorious pie cousin.

Pop Of Color In Our Master Bedroom

I‘m a Wayfair Homemaker and I received compensation for this post, however all opinions are my own.

We recently decided to redecorate our house and I must say, it looks great. My friend told me to get some stairs from here since ours are getting a bit old, but I haven’t got round to buying them yet. I’m focusing on my bedroom at the minute. I like my bedroom dark; I can’t sleep when there is very much light in there. I’ve always had light blocking curtains, but Jeremy and I decided to paint our bedroom a dark color, too; this, combined with dark walnut bedroom furniture, made our master suite start to look like a cave. Wayfair asked the Wayfair Homemakers if there was a space that we would like to add a pop of color to, and I responded with our master bedroom as a candidate. Our bedroom was a cluttered mess, and Gabe’s toddler bed was in our sitting area. I needed to do something to brighten up our otherwise blue space.

Making a House a Home: Wayfair Daily Sales

This post is sponsored by Wayfair and is part of the daily sales email campaign.

I have transitioned from having a 2200 square foot house, to an 800 square foot apartment, back to a 4500+ square foot house. As our move-in date approaches, I panic thinking about the costs associated with furnishing such a large home.
As you all know, we will be moving house very soon. We’re all really excited, which is an unusual feeling when moving house. However, we’ve not been as stressed as last time. This is because we were told to use realtors to help us find a new property and to sell our old home if we wanted. Some realtors do offer those services, so we made sure to use them this time around. It has saved so much time and stress. Now, pretty much everything is ready for us to move in. There were a few issues with the property but they were easily fixed. We needed to look for a Heating And Cooling Colorado Springs contractor to fix the AC unit and there were a few slates missing on the roof that were soon replaced. The only thing left to do is plan how I want to decorate the house. There’s a lot more square footage to work with so I’ve been having to buy some new furniture to fill the spaces!
I enjoy having a beautiful and stylish home, but I don’t want to go broke spending lots of money on home decor. It is no secret that I am a bargain shopper. I don’t like cheap furniture either and it can be hard to find a good deal on high quality pieces. I discovered Wayfair: the online store where you can find almost anything for your home. The advantage to shopping Wayfair is that you can often read reviews about products that you are ordering, and they offer daily sales where you can score some fantastic deals.

The sales are on items routinely found on Wayfair.com; they launch every day at 12 EST, and last for 72 hours, but quantities are limited. The categories are curated into groups such as dining and furniture, cottage-chic wall decor, entryway updates, etc. The items are discounted from their regular list price.

In one of my daily sales emails I noticed they were advertising accent chairs under $200. What kind of accent chair could you get for under $200? I fell in love with this Deco Slipper Chair in Charcoal which was only $82.99 with free shipping; I was astonished. The reviews on the chair were great. I decided that it was a deal too great to pass up, and I was impressed when the chair arrived. It was gorgeous.

A random photo I captured in our session.
I have the perfect place for the chair when we move in: it will go in the office. But accent chairs in a photographer’s home often serve a dual purpose: I have been known to relocate chairs to use in photo shoots. I decided to give my new chair a quick test run with my future niece, KK. The picture on the right is an outtake from our little mini photo session. As you can see, KK was impressed.

I also ordered a pair of outdoor throw pillows for a wooden porch swing. They were equally beautiful, and a great value at $22.99 for both.

You can sign up for the Wayfair daily sales emails in the link below. I receive no commission from email sign-up. I encourage anyone who might be interested in getting good deals on items for your home to do so. They have offered daily deals on great brands like Le Creuset, KitchenAid, and Safavieh.

When we get moved into the house, I will post updated photos of my slipper chair and pillows along with a few other Wayfair items.
