Rsv awareness month

This post was sponsored by AstraZeneca as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

I was 20 months old when my brother Brandon was diagnosed with RSV; He developed pneumonia as a complication of RSV and was hospitalized for nearly two weeks at the Children’s Hospital that was two hours from our home. I had to stay with my grandparents, and my parents had to take off work to help care for him. Thankfully he recovered and didn’t suffer any further complications, but it was a scary time for our family. October is National RSV Awareness Month and I’m trying to help create awareness about the prevention of RSV.

Essential oil scented beeswax candles

When Jeremy harvested honey from the bee hives early in the summer, we had to process the hive frames. The honey is separated from the beeswax and I use it to make all sorts of tasty treats. I didn’t want the beeswax to go to waste, so I processed it into large beeswax blocks. There are lots of things that you can use beeswax to make, two of my favorites are lotion bars and homemade candles. Today I’m sharing how to make your own essential oil scented beeswax candles. Don’t worry if you don’t have any beeswax to make candles yourself, you can instead look to sites like Little Miss Twiggie Twinkles and purchase some little tea light candles or even a wax melt burner to add a nice some and some aesthetic to your home! Now, without further ado..

Between leftover wedding cake and our 12 day honeymoon which was the equivalent of eating our way through the Mediterranean, I’ve been afraid to step on the scales. My pants are snug, which isn’t very comfortable. I know that I need to lose weight, but that’s much easier said than done. Now that school is back in session and Jeremy is preparing to teach his fall semester classes, I’m no longer cooking three meals a day.

It’s much easier for me to watch my calorie intake when I’m not making meals which are dictated by the appetites and tastes of a 6 year old boy and a 40 year old man. I can also cut out the amount of junk food I have on hand, and make it easier for me to make healthier snack choices.

Affordable eyewear

Many vision plans cover a yearly eye exam, but most won’t cover the cost of frames and lenses.

If you have multiple family members who require glasses, this can be a big expense; but a necessary one. Children who don’t get necessary vision exams and glasses can experience educational delays and have trouble reading. Fortunately, there are special glasses, such as blue light glasses, that help with your child’s vision. You can speak with your opticians about blue light glasses for kids to find out more. If you want to find out more about the different types of eyewear available on the market, here are a few tips for purchasing affordable eyewear for the entire family. I’m also hosting a $50 gift card giveaway from Zenni Optical with details at the end of this post.

According to the Centers For Disease Control, roughly 40,000 babies are born in the United States each year with a congenital heart defect. Many of the those require surgery within their first year of life. As the advancements in medicine improve each year, so do the survival rates. Those patients can require long-term monitoring and medical care. The Cleveland Clinic Children’s Heart Program collaborates with the #1 Heart Program in the Nation to help provide better care to the youngest of patients.
