#StyleUp4School

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of OshKosh B’gosh; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

We have a new member of our household; in late July, I gave birth to a daughter. My son started school just two weeks later and luckily we had done most of our back to school shopping prior to the arrival of his little sister. My son is 7.5 years old and just started 2nd grade. He has strong opinions on everything, including his school clothing. When cleaning out his closet before shopping, I realized that nothing from his spring school wardrobe would fit him, unless it had elastic in the waist (and that didn’t guarantee they would fit). We always head to OshKosh B’gosh for most of his clothing. I’ve found that their clothing can withstand fun on the playground and life on the farm, and without breaking my budget; this is more important than ever since I have two kids to buy clothes for now. Today I’m sharing a few of our favorite pieces from OshKosh B’gosh and how we #StyleUp4School. I’m also giving away an OshKosh B’gosh gift card and asking for your helping selecting a project to fund on DonorsChoose.org at the bottom of this post. #StyleUp4School Continue reading #StyleUp4School With OshKosh B’Gosh

What is a Boo-Hoo Breakfast? How do you host one?

Boo-Hoo Breakfast

Up until a few days ago, I had never heard of a Boo-Hoo Breakfast. I was elected PTA President for the upcoming school year, and one of the teachers from my son’s school sent me a video about a Boo-Hoo Breakfast. Did you cry on your child’s first day of school? I might have gotten a little emotional, but I didn’t cry. My son never had separation anxiety, and I think that contributed to my composure. Many children and parents cry on the first day of school, especially kindergarten parents. Starting kindergarten is a big step in a child’s educational path, and it can be an emotional day for everyone involved. The idea behind a Boo-Hoo Breakfast is that it gives parents and caregivers of kindergarten students a place to meet and mingle on the first day of school. Breakfast can be very simple or elaborate, and they’re generally hosted by the PTA. Most importantly, it gets them out of the classroom so that teachers can begin socializing students in their new environment.

Where did our summer go? On Wednesday my son started Kindergarten; he didn’t shed any tears but this momma was a little broken hearted. We spent the last few weeks talking about school in preparation and even doing a little back to school shopping. We always head to OshKosh B’Gosh, but this school season they’ve given you even more reason to shop with the B’Gosh Jeanius campaign.

Back to school preparations can get expensive. You often need to purchase new school clothes, school supplies, items to pack in lunches, and breakfast items that can be prepared quickly. It can be equally expensive for teachers, who are often responsible for replenishing supplies or other items for their classrooms. What if you could earn free books for your child or your school just by purchasing items that you would likely purchase anyhow? You can with a new Kellogg’s program. Specially marked boxes of Kellogg’s products have codes which can be redeemed for free books (print or ebooks) that can be sent to you or donated to the school of your choice. Today, I’m sharing about the program and I’m including a free printable to let your child’s teacher know that you donated a book to their classroom.
