Since switching to Walmart Family Mobile Plus Plan, we have at least one family movie night each month. My phone plan includes one free VUDU $7 movie credit each month (which is the price of a new release movie) along with unlimited* talk, text and data which (*includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE† data then 2G) for $49.88 per month per line. It’s fun to curl up with my family and watch a good movie, and even better when the movie rental is free. I like to make as much of our meal/snacks ahead of time, so that I’m not fussing with cooking when I could be relaxing.

I’ve found that food items such as a Nacho or Popcorn bar, make the night go smoother. Everyone can eat or snack at their leisure, and I don’t have a 7 year old whining, “Mommy I’m hungry.,” during the movie. Here are a few tips and tricks for setting up an easy Nacho Bar For family movie night.

On the farm, summers are often busier than during the school year. Gabe has a few summer day camp programs, and Jeremy and I have a long to-do list. There’s also gardening and lawn work that has to be done. After a long day of camp or work, we like to relax and enjoy a movie night. We all enjoy watching movies and we like to do it as often as possible. Our friend recently got some Home Cinema Specialists in London to install a home cinema. She uses it all the time and I’m beginning to think we should get one here too! They got lots of advice about it and had it custom built within their home, so it looks amazing! They’ve given us a bit of advice just in case we do decide to take on getting a home cinema such as “How to pick the right subwoofer” and “How to get good acoustics for your home cinema”. Jeremy and I often have long debates about what to watch, and on occasion, we struggle to find a movie that both of us will agree to watch. I’m sharing some summer movie night suggestions including one list that can be watched with kids and the other watched without. I’m also sharing how we get one free VUDU move rental (up to $7) per month with my current phone plan.

“This post was sponsored by Redbox as part of a program with Influence Central. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review”

How big is your holiday shopping list? I have a large extended family, a few close friends, teachers, coaches, and a theatre director who were all on my shopping list. Our regular Fedex and UPS drivers make a few trips out to our farm each week, and always handle our packages with care; I wanted to do something for them to show our appreciation too. The costs of gifts for everyone can add up quickly. We use the local Redbox machines to rent movies regularly, and I was surprised to learn that you can buy e-gift cards as well as individual movie rental code bundles. They’re relatively inexpensive, and you could easily gift one or a few. Today I’m sharing a few quick gift ideas using Redbox promo codes and a free printable to share the codes with friends and family. If you want to pair this great deal with other gifts at a reasonable price, you can check out another promo site like SearchPromoCodes to see what other gifts you can save on!

One of my favorite family activities is family movie night. I love finding a great movie that the entire family will enjoy, making snacks, and cuddling on the couch.

The release of Disney’s Big Hero 6 made my task much easier this week. I picked up the movie from Target, and I grabbed a few supplies to make white chocolate-coated chocolate marshmallow treats inspired by one of the film’s lead characters, Baymax.

Mockingjay Trail Mix Popcorn

December 2, 2014

Our family loves going to the movies, and we are excited to be a part of the Fandango Family. We have a growing list of movies that we want to go to the theater to see, including: Penguins of Madagascar, Big Hero 6, Interstellar, and of course, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Our family had to prep to go see Mockingjay Part 1; are you curious why? I’m a firm believer that trilogies are best viewed sequentially; it has been a while since Catching Fire came out and not everyone (ahem…Jeremy!) had seen The Hunger Games or Catching Fire.
