Do you know what’s in your pet’s food? For many years, I had no idea how to read a pet food label; to be perfectly honest, I didn’t know how to read my own food labels. If I saw a brand on the shelf like nutra thrive I didn’t even think of checking the nutra thrive reviews online to see how healthy it was compared to the food I was using. I generally fed my pets based upon recommendations from my friends and family, not what others were saying online. It wasn’t until my grandmother’s dog developed an intolerance to several pet food ingredients that I forced myself to learn how to decipher pet food labels. It’s obvious that you would be cautious about feeding certain ingredients to a pet with allergies or an intolerance, but it’s also important to be knowledgeable about labels to ensure your pet’s overall health and quality of life. Being a dog owner, knowing that there are a number of raw dog food suppliers in the UK, it will be hard to forget the importance of feeding your dog the right ingredients. Keeping it natural could make a difference to your dog’s health.

A quality dog food, regular exercise, fresh water and training are all integral to having a happy, healthy dog. Today I’m teaming up with Purina® and Meijer to share some tips for reading pet food labels, and to answer some common questions about feeding your dog.

If I Had A Conversation With My Dog

If I could have a conversation with my French Bulldog, Bob, it would go something like the following (and keep in mind as you read, this Frenchie speaks with a South American accent because he was born in Colombia):

Me: Bob get out of the cat’s food.

Bob: I need foods, all the foods. Did you know there is extra foods in that bag right over there?

Me: Bob, please scoot over; my leg is falling asleep and your body heat is making me feel like I’m having hot flashes!

Bob: I’m going to lay on you until you feed me. I don’t want to miss any of the delicious foods you might have.

Me: Bob, get off the dining room table! How do you get on a 4 foot table with 4 inch legs?

Bob: But mother, I was only cleaning up everyone’s dinner scraps…and I see the cat get on the table ALL the time.

Me: Oh goodness, what’s that smell?

Bob: What? Oh, that… You remember those extra tacos I stole from the table? They aren’t agreeing with my delicate digestive system. Could you lay off the pepper next time? By the way, I need to…oh…excuse me!

Me: Why is it 900 degrees in my bed? (Goes to throw covers in the floor only to realize they’re anchored down…)

Bob: Oh, good, you are awake! I saw a boogie man under the bed, and I was just trying to keep you safe and warm. But now that I think about it, it might have been the cat.

Me: Bob! You JUST went outside for a long walk. What is THAT on my rug?

Bob: Um…the Bob forgot to do something while he was outside. It’s ok, I put it next to the door for you. By the way, I blame the tacos.

I love my frenchie, but he’s a different kind of dog. He’s very needy, slightly neurotic, and he has a face that only a mother could love. His life revolves around food and so does his behavior.

The Importance Of Keeping Your Cat Active

It’s easy for us to keep our dogs active and fit. Chief’s previous owner primarily worked on a farm, and would take him for rides around the farm in his truck. Chief loves to hop in the back of the truck and will beg for a “ride”. We’ll load him up, and go walking around on one of the farms. He gets exercise, and we spend time with him. It’s much harder to keep our cat Tucker active. He was born in one of the barns, and we gradually befriended him. Jeremy brought him in the house when we moved in, and he’s only left the house one time to go to the vet. Funny enough, I have a friend who has a very active cat, and she said she had to give her pet gmo-free cbd for cats to get her to calm down. As much as I wish Tucker was a more active feline, I don’t think I want him bouncing off the walls. So, I’m going to share some advice on keeping your cat active.
