Derby Cake: 15 Course Meal

There is an infamous pie in Kentucky whose name and trademark are furiously protected; I shall refer to this pie as “the pie which shall not be named” (That’s a silly movie reference). It became famous because it’s delicious and it has an affiliation with our beloved derby. It’s filled with brown sugar, chocolate chips, pecans (or walnuts), and a hint of Kentucky bourbon. Today, I turned that pie into a cake; It’s as delicious as its notorious pie cousin.

Pop Of Color In Our Master Bedroom

I‘m a Wayfair Homemaker and I received compensation for this post, however all opinions are my own.

We recently decided to redecorate our house and I must say, it looks great. My friend told me to get some stairs from here since ours are getting a bit old, but I haven’t got round to buying them yet. I’m focusing on my bedroom at the minute. I like my bedroom dark; I can’t sleep when there is very much light in there. I’ve always had light blocking curtains, but Jeremy and I decided to paint our bedroom a dark color, too; this, combined with dark walnut bedroom furniture, made our master suite start to look like a cave. Wayfair asked the Wayfair Homemakers if there was a space that we would like to add a pop of color to, and I responded with our master bedroom as a candidate. Our bedroom was a cluttered mess, and Gabe’s toddler bed was in our sitting area. I needed to do something to brighten up our otherwise blue space.

December 18, 2014

What Housewarming Party would be complete without cookies? This week a few Wayfair Homemakers and I rounded up some of our favorite cookie recipes to share with you. It is so much fun to “meet” and share ideas from other Wayfair Homemakers, and it is part of why I love partnering with them as a blogger. Perhaps you have a holiday cookie exchange or want something to package as tokens of appreciation? Hopefully I’ll give you a few recipes to add to your cookbook or menu.

This post was inspired by a post in the Wayfair Idea Lounge. They created a collaboration of their favorite Christmas Cookie recipes. It includes many traditional holiday favorites such as scotchies, pizzelles, gingerbread, snickerdoodles, peppermint, and butter cookies. If you browse the page, the Editor also includes some great kitchen gadget ideas. I love looking at all the latest cooking tools and utensils that make baking easier. Wayfair has a huge selection of kitchen appliances, gadgets, and utensils.

fall cooking essentials

One of my favorite rooms in my house is the kitchen; I love to cook and entertain. My kitchen has got all the essentials beautiful kitchen cabinets, a gorgeous floor and my trusty coffee machine, bought from somewhere like LeasCoffee (www.leascoffee.com), which has never failed me on a tired morning. I would definitely call myself a foodie so I’ve got a lot of small kitchen appliances – so many I’ve lost count! They just come in so handy when you’ve got multiple things cooking and need something doing quickly. I found that my love for gadgets came around when installing my new kitchen. I remember having to choose what kind of stove I wanted and there was so much choice, I was in my element! From the best induction hob to ringed burners, there were just so many options to choose from. From that point on, I haven’t been able to stop buying the latest tech for my kitchen. There is always something in Wayfair Kitchen that is on my wish list. Today I am going to share a few of my favorite things available in Wayfair Kitchen that I already have in my home.

Choosing Custom Upholstery with Wayfair

Thanks to Wayfair for sponsoring today’s post.

My fiance and I just recently finished our new home. We have embarked on the daunting task of trying to decorate it. I have been doing it room by room, and prioritizing the rooms we use the most. I finally got around to decorating Jeremy’s office. It is a beautiful space, and almost has panoramic views of the farm. Since I am a Wayfair Homemaker, I thought I would check out their selection of seating and sofas. They recently added custom upholstery options to select furniture pieces. I fell in love with this gorgeous sofa.
